Positive vibes in the Taennchel Mountains

Sweet dreams at Mont Sainte-Odile

A not-to-be-missed pilgrimage site in Alsace, Mont Sainte-Odile was the backdrop for a monastery and then a convent. At an elevation of 753 meters, the peak remains a spiritual destination. Be sure to make it to the top in time to catch the sunset. The moment when the last rays of light shine on the glowing sandstone façades is always smashing, not to mention the extraordinary view of the Alsace plain. Calm and serenity emanate from this site, so precious to the hearts of the locals. Sainte-Odile is forever the kind patron saint of the region. After a delicious meal, make your way to your cosy room, where the night promises to be sweet and silent. Tomorrow is another day. Grasp the mysteries of the Pagan Wall

One of the most mysterious sites of Alsace surrounds the Sainte-Odile monastery: the Pagan Wall. A gigantic stone rampart, it continues to spark the curiosity of scientists and visitors alike. Admire the remnants of this ancient barrier with around 300,000 stone blocks that have defied both time and the elements.

With controversial origins, this majestic and enigmatic site follows the contours of the Mont Sainte-Odile plateau for 11 km, fuelling tales and legends still today. One thing's for sure: the multitude of marked paths make the Pagan Wall the ideal place for a lovely stroll.
