Iron Museum

The lively and fascinating history of a town in the northern Vosges, founded by Gallo-Roman craftsmen, often destroyed by war but always rebuilt. For more than three centuries, its tumultuous and tragic destiny has been linked to that of a family of enterprising and innovative industrialists, the Dietrichs, who have acquired an international reputation. Beautiful models as well as objects and documents mark out the visitor's path, from prehistory to the 20th century. The Historical and Industrial Museum will open its doors on May 3 for its 30th season. To mark this anniversary, many events will take place during the 2023 season. The theme of the 2023 temporary exhibition will be "The De Dietrich wagon, king of rail freight - A production at the service of goods transport". Enriched with documents, photographs, models and an animated miniature circuit, this exhibition offers a beautiful retrospective on a flagship company of Alsace. Since 1855, De Dietrich has been producing wagons for the transport of goods. These took many forms depending on the goods transported (beer, chemicals, oil, wine...).
