Under Louis XIV, the island of Giesenheim was chosen to complete France's defensive system. Vauban, the kingdom's renowned architect, set to work drawing up plans and building a stronghold. The fate of Fort-Louis was to be shaken by more than a century of continuous warfare. Two tourists intrigued by the history of the place will go from discovery to discovery. They will plunge with the public into the turbulent past of Fort-Louis. They'll meet Vauban in person, 18th-century Fort-Louis inhabitants, Roeschwoog farmers and even a canteen-maid from the Napoleonic era. A show for all audiences, written by Jean Michel Steinbach and performed by actors from the Deux Haches troupe from Schirrhein-Schirrhoffen.
