The Bunker "Heidenbuckel"

Located in the forest south of Leutenheim, this bunker is one of the five major ones (37m. x 17m.) built in 1932 on the eastern edge of the Haguenau forest. It was designed to protect the areas between the neighbouring bunkers of the Donau and Soufflenheim. 60 soldiers were accommodated there and the kitchen was equipped to prepare 180 food intakes, i.e. for its occupants and the troops operating in the surroundings.
