On the edge of the Haguenau forest, Soufflenheim has built its international reputation on pottery. A historical practice that dates back to the Bronze Age. Today about fifteen workshops perpetuate the ancestral techniques and gestures: turning, engobage, decoration of the pieces with a barolet, enamelling... The emblematic dishes of Alsace, kougelhopf, baeckeoffe, sauerkraut are prepared and served in Soufflenheim! One also finds in the potteries decorative objects rich in colours and patterns. Visit of the pottery workshops, demonstration of turning and decoration on reservation. Discover the village with the walking tour "Le Tour des Potiers", discover the secrets and spot the details that you would normally never have seen. (Duration 2 hours, distance 3.5 km). The walk can also be done by bicycle with an extended loop in the forest. For children, a playful stroll through the city is proposed. It will take you from Betschdorf to Soufflenheim, on a discovery trail punctuated with riddles. Be curious, observant, and collect the clues! Three versions of the course are available for children aged 4 and over, teenagers... and the whole family! For the sporty ones, several bike circuits pass through the village: the Rhine (40km), the Henri Loux (14 km), the Goethe (27 km) and 3 mountain bike circuits start from Soufflenheim, in the direction of the forest of Haguenau (3 levels of difficulty).
