" Admire the flowers along this walking path. But those flowers aren’t wild, and why is this old road here? You’re on the site a former workers’ housing estate that has long been abandoned. "

The Cité 14 came about in 1958 during the construction work of the Grand Canal of Alsace. Occupied by site workers and their families for 10 years, the Cité could shelter up to 3,000 people and featured many services. Abandoned in 1968, the Cité is now a walking trail, lined with panels describing the natural area.
