Colmar International Festival : Brass from Vienna and Berlin... A collection of hits

" The largest classical music festival in Alsace. "

PHILHARMONIC-BRASS Alsace is a region rich in wind bands, so the Colmar International Festival is particularly pleased to welcome the Philharmonic Brass for this year's edition! This ensemble brings together members of some of Europe's most prestigious orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic and the Vienna Philharmonic. An exciting programme that moves from the USSR of Shostakovich, celebrating the anniversary of the October Revolution with its festive Overture, to the jazzy rhythms of Gershwin's Cuban Overture, looking delightfully to Italian opera (timeless Verdi, Mascagni and his prodigious Intermezzo) to end with the delicate art of film music, masterfully represented here by masterpieces by Morricone and John Williams such as Harry Potter and Star Wars! A particularly festive programme for everyone! Join us on the Philharmonic Brass odyssey! PROGRAM D. Shostakovich, Festive Overture G. Verdi, The Force of Destiny P. Mascagni, Intermezzo Sinfonico G. Verdi, Aida, Ballabile and Triumphal March A. Dvorak, Carnival Overture G. Gershwin, Cuban Overture E. Morricone, Tribute to Morricone, Suite J. Williams, Harry Potter J. Williams, Star Wars Medley
