The "Clés du Val d'Argent" Museum (CIAP)

Visit Les Clés du Val d'Argent, the Val d'Argent Architecture and Heritage Interpretation Centre (CIAP)
The Communauté de Communes du Val d'Argent, which has been awarded the "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire" label, has set up its Centre d'Interprétation de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine (CIAP) on the 1st floor of the former Edler Lepavec textile factory in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines.
The CIAP gives you the keys to understanding the landscape and architectural evolution of the Val d'Argent, through its history.
The CIAP exhibition is based on a relief map, an animated digital tool that allows you to discover the geographical and geological context of the area. It is then organized into five thematic cabinets, equipped with multimedia devices, explaining the landscape imprints left by the presence of frontiers, industrial and agricultural activities. The exhibition concludes with a presentation of contemporary land-use planning trends.

The CIAP also offers temporary exhibitions on local history themes throughout the year.
Location: Cour Edler Lepavec 5 rue Kroeber-Imlin 68160 Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines. CIAP building, 1st floor
