Guided tour of the Gambsheim hydroelectric power station
Reservations are required at the Gambsheim tourist information office (03 88 96 44 08). Registration closes on the Wednesday before the visit at 4pm. The guided tour is given by a guide on behalf of EDF HYDRO EST. He will show you this hydroelectric power station, which was commissioned in 1974. Equipped with 4 bulbous (horizontal) groups, it produces an average of 650 million renewable kWh per year without greenhouse gas emissions. The Franco-German Paris Agreement signed in 1969 allowed for the construction and development of the Gambsheim hydroelectric plant on the Rhine. Conditions: from 12 years old. Minimum 8 participants, maximum 15. Please arrive at the hydroelectric power station 15 minutes before the start of the tour. Must have a valid identity card or passport. Please note: the health or vaccination pass is no longer compulsory but visitors must wear a health mask for the visit. Cerga reserves the right to modify the visit according to the current Covid19 health recommendations. Smoking is not permitted on the site. Compulsory dress: legs and arms covered (no skirts, dresses, shorts, Bermuda shorts), flat and closed shoes (no sandals, flip-flops or heels), good physical condition; no access for PRM. The list of rules to be observed will be sent to each participant before the visit. Weather: visit maintained in bad weather conditions, except for prefectural warning. Duration of the visit: 1h15. Parking: car park at the locks or the fish pass, then use the secure pedestrian/cyclist footbridge. Do not ring the bell, do not use the intercom. Wait for the EDF agent to come to the door.
