In the quiet Rhine forest, look at the Israelite cemetery, one of the oldest tombstones of which dates back to 1669.

Also called the Judengarten ("Garden of Jews"), the Jewish cemetery of Mackenheim has been recorded in writing since 1608, which makes it one of the oldest of its kind in Alsace. It is located away from the centre of the village at the heart of the Rhineland forest. Tombs from towns and villages bordering the Rhine were brought here by boat.
