Castel Osthouse

This castle has a moat which was fed with water from the river Ill. It is the last remaining lowland castle in Alsace to have a functioning moat. Construction began on the first wing in the 15th century, and the castle remained within the Zorn De Bulach family - which originally built the castle - until 1983. Its several sites, including St. Barthelemy's Church, the chapel, the cemetery, and the land markers, are evidence of this long history. Guided tours in season by reservation.
