Fessenheim Lock

Description Hours

Built on the Grand Canal d’Alsace, the Fessenheim lock has two chambers. Each year between 18 000 to 20 000 vessels use it. From the control cabin situated above, the EDF lock keeper manages the placing of the boats in the chambers and the opening and shutting of the gates (a free service twenty-four hours a day, all year round).
