Lembach, a commune in the Regional Nature Park of the Northern Vosges, is surrounded by a belt of unspoilt countryside that is still well preserved. This green belt is an area of transition between the village and the surrounding forest covered hills. It includes meadows, pasture, traditional orchards, hedges and some cropped land. Like the neighbouring villages, perhaps more so, Lembach is host to a wide range of plant and animal life typical of the partially wooded countryside of the foothills of the Vosges, with the difference that Lembach is in the middle of the forest and not at its edge. The outing proposed, similar to the one a little earlier at Wissembourg will be concerned with wild plants and their medicinal and culinary use.
