Hiking circuit - tour des immerlins

A beautiful loop that takes you to a place steeped in history. Bloody battles took place in this massif during the First World War. They have not only left their mark on the landscape, but also on our memories.

Start your hike at the Col du Calvaire by following the yellow circle markers. The path passes through a forest where you can enjoy exceptional panoramic views. The Alsatian plain and the surrounding valleys extend to the Black Forest.

Continue your tour until you reach the Duchesne Cemetery. Located near the battlefield, it is an important place of remembrance for the area. Peace and courage reign here. Depending on the weather, it takes on a mystical air. A unique site where 294 soldiers are buried and 116 in an ossuary named after Major Duchesne, battalion commander of the 215th RI, who died on 2 December 1914 at the Tête des Faux.

The summit is a few kilometres away. Another impressive place to discover where the traces of the fighting are omnipresent.
