If his valleys keep a strong agricultural character, the municipality of Sainte-Croix-aux-Mines developed through the mining, the appearances(mines) and the tobacco. In 1871, the Burrus family settles down and creates a tobacco factory. Among his most eminent members represent Maurice Burrus, deputy, world-famous stamp collector, and restaurant owner of the ancient theater of Vaison-la-Romaine. Discover the heritage of Burrus, by visiting in particular the villa Burrus, become intermunicipal media library, and its botanical park of 3 hectares.
