The Chemin de la Résistance et de la Liberté (Path of Resistance and Freedom) was carried out on the initiative of the local French Remembrance Committee. It connects the Urbeis pass to the Noirceux pass, which represents a route of about 10km. Twelve panels placed on the route retrace the past of those who, during the Second World War, participated in the passage of thousands of people who wanted to flee German territory to reach France. The route follows the old border for the most part. You will find many period markers engraved with the F for "Frankreich" on one side and the D for "Deutschland" on the other. Passing through the places called Les Osières, les Trois Bornes, the Schlingoutte pass, a good physical condition is recommended. In addition to discovering the history of the valley, you will have access to unusual viewpoints. Those who wish to do so can turn around halfway through the route and return to the starting point.
