Voix et Route Romane – Medieval Music Festival

For the past 30 years, at the end of the summer, the Voix et Route Romane Festival has been offering an incredible journey through the music of the Middle Ages. The festival unfolds across Alsace, with medieval music concerts being held at the finest sites of the region’s Romanesque Route. The last event in France devoted exclusively to medieval music, this festival embodies the inextricable link between culture and heritage. From 26 August to 11 September, across Alsace, discover exceptional performers and music. Workshops, guided tours and tastings are offered as well...In the Eurometropolis: Saint-Trophime Church, Eschau, Friday 2 September: 5 pm : guided tour of the church 8 pm : Veni de Libano, muscial setting of the Song of Songs (10th-14th centuries), La Peregrina ensemble. In Strasbourg, Saturday 3 September: 5 pm: guided tour - “The Romanesque Treasures of Strasbourg Cathedral” 6 pm: mini-concert - Musica Nova, courtyard of the 5e Lieu, Place du Château 8 pm: concert - “Barcelona Mass: Music at the Court of the Popes and of Aragon in the 14th century”, by the Musica Nova Ensemble, Protestant Church of St. Peter the Younger (Église Saint-Pierre-Le-Jeune).
