This exhibition of 150 original works and documents, from the collection of the Fondation Folon, traces 40 years of multiform creation and explores some unexpected and little-known aspects of this artist.Throughout his career, the Belgian illustrator showed a great deal of curiosity for very different graphic worlds, such as posters, illustrations for the press and humorous and satirical drawings. Folon placed particular emphasis on illustrating the great evils of contemporary society. He also fought for political and social causes, as demonstrated by his press illustrations for The New Yorker, Time and L’Express, and his posters, amongst others for Amnesty International and the Declaration of Human Rights.Exhibition organised in partnership with the Fondation Folon (Belgium), as part of the Rencontres de l’Illustration in Strasbourg.
