Street Arts Festival: SélesTArue

" A day dedicated to street arts in Sélestat. Laughter and wonder expected, be ready! "

The town centre squares will host a variety of shows for all ages, with a few nice nods to sport in this year of ‘Olympism’ in Sélestat.

All the ingredients are there for a great family day out in Sélestat: entertainment and support for local businesses! Shops will also be open for the Vitrines de Sélestat Autumn Day.

Place d'Armes :

  • 2pm-6pm: Kozmo and Marink'arts decorate the glass bins in Rue de St Dié and Rue Wiederkehr. These artists from the Strasbourg collective ‘Colors Urban art’ will be decorating the last 2 bollards of the ‘l'art urbain s'invite à Sélestat #4’ event.
  • 2pm-6pm: family and children's activities organised by the SMICTOM Alsace Centrale and the Service Jeunesse de la ComCom de Sélestat. Sustainable development wheel, Furoshiki zero waste workshop, craft and sensory workshops, board games...

They'll sell you dreams and joy with a few vintage, popular and festive songs!

Place de la Victoire :

  • 2pm & 4.30pm: Le Rat dit noir, humorous circus show - all audiences - 45 minutes. ‘Attention ladies and gentlemen, it's about to start! A trolley, clubs, balls, grass and the game can begin! A golfer and his trusty caddy try to play a round. But on the green, nothing goes smoothly. Hierarchical disorder and rivalry quickly set in between the two men, turning the relationship into a clownish sporting competition. Who will come out on top?
  • 3.30pm: La Coupe des Rubafons - Cie Les Rubafons - participatory sports burlesque show - all audiences - 55 minutes. Funny and offbeat, this participatory show transports you into a competition as crazy as it is sporting, giving you the power to choose the winner. Like acrobats, the Rubafons juggle different roles, becoming journalists and sportsmen in turn, to give you a unique experience. Is the public ready to be the impartial judge of these crazy Olympics?

Cour de l'école Sainte-Foy :

  • 2.30pm & 4.30pm: ‘One Man Show’ - Cie PCCR - circus disciplines - all audiences - 30-35 minutes. Thomas Staath will perform a mashup of his diabolo, mast, juggling and strongman acts.

Hercule and his grandfather cultivate their vegetable garden using chemicals and an X-terminator 3000 helicopter to control slugs. Capucine, the neighbour, uses plants and animals to help her. When fast-food giant Maxi-Krash Burger buys up the wasteland between their gardens to build its new complex, they decide to do something about it. What will our merry band come up with to get out of this predicament?

Cour de l'école du centre :

  • 3pm & 5.15pm: ‘Quand je serai grand’ - Cie les Aéronautes - aerial circus and harp - all audiences - 30-35 minutes’. Inspired loosely by two children's albums, ‘Quand je serai grand’ (When I grow up) evokes dreams and encounters. Music and movement meet at the top of a very, very high fabric... A musical and circus encounter that turns everything upside down and makes real what we imagined as children.
  • 4pm: ‘Les P'tits C.U.L.S’ - Cie La Chose Publique - sports music - all audiences - 45 minutes to 1 hour. Quincy and Quentin, Coachs Light et Sexy, are metronomic sports musicians.
