The Massif of Chalmont

Overlooking the village of La Vancelle and reaching a height of 704 metres, this site is the stuff of legends (Charlemagne’s treasure, White Lady, Pont des Fées (fairy bridge), etc.). The enormous blocks of cracked sandstone found there never fail to astound visitors. Crossed by the GR 532, a long-distance footpath, it marks the start of circuit of trails leading to the Rocher du Coucou, the Rocher des Fées, the Roche de la Salière and the Roche du Cheval Tombé. At the summit of the Massif, the panoramic viewpoint is the perfect spot to rest and admire the stunning view over the entire Liepvrette valley.
