Réserve naturelle volontaire agrée du Scheinsfels

The Schweinsfels is set in a forest dotted with rocky outcrops in the centre of the Gallenwald mountain area about 2km from Nieidersteinbach. The forest is spread over a steep slope topping out at 512m at the top, with a panoramic rocky peak. Resting on a base of pink sandstone typical of the Vosges du Nord, the site is distinguished by a abundance of majestic Scots pines. It is also home to deer and wild boar as well as some twenty nesting birds.
