Discover the charming village of Seebach! Situated on agricultural hills, it is one of the most beautiful villages of Alsace, with its white houses with exposed beams.
With its remarkable rows of white half-timbered houses and the richness of its flower beds, Seebach (Oberseebach) is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Alsace. The village has the particularity of having been cut in two confessionally at the level of the town hall which is in the centre. The northern part was Protestant Reformed, and the southern part Catholic. Go up the street "rue de l'église", or the street "rue des forgerons", from one end to the other to see the differences that remain between the two parts of the village, take the time to observe the details of the houses (half-timbering patterns, corner posts, inscriptions), appreciate their gardens...
Every year in July, the village mobilises on the occasion of the Streisselhochzeit, the re-enactment of a traditional wedding with a bouquet, a festive event not to be missed in Alsace during the summer.
