Schieweschlawe
" 
The Schieweschlawe is a very old custom which the villagers practise every winter. Several weeks before the carnival, preparations begin with the gathering of dead wood and the setting up of large flat stones. On the day, a large fire is lit and nightfall heralds the start of the festivities.
