The Voyemont Saâles was built in the middle of a 2km long plateau surrounded by mountains on the Via Salinaria as an easy passageway to cross the Vosges. The town has been known as a trading area for its entire history. From 1743 it had the privilege of holding a fair and market. In 1924, the rebuilt town hall's first floor was taken over by the market. With its 20 doorways, the market now hosts the mountain farmer's market every Friday in summer.
