At 7 km of the mountain station Le Hohwald (access by the road D426, then D130, direction ‘Le Champ du Feu’), the Neuntelstein is 971m high. The rock is more than 30 m higher than the mountain range of the north valley of the Andlau river. From its summit, there is a very nice view upon: on the left: the Mount Sainte Odile, in the backyard: the Alsacian plain, forwards: Le Hohwald. In the background we can see the Haut Koenigsbourg castle, and when the weather is nice: the Vosges and the Alps. The abrupt cliffs of the Neuntelstein are used by the Club Alpin as cliff center, very frequented.
